SYDNEY SWANS V WESTERN BULLDOGS PREDICTION
THURSDAY – JUNE 25 – 7:40 PM
AFL Round 4 gets underway on Thursday night with a cracking contest between two winners from last weekend.
The Swans are sitting inside the top 8 now after an impressive come-from-behind victory last weekend against North Melbourne. They trailed by two goals midway through the first term before kicking 5 straight to lead by 6 at halftime. A late rally by the Roos wasn’t enough though as the Swans recorded a tidy 11 point win.
The Western Bulldogs pulled out a strong defensive effort last week against the 2019 Grand Finalists GWS, keeping them to just 4 majors. The Dogs lead from start to finish to record a solid 4 goal victory over a genuine competition heavyweight.
The Bulldogs won the last game between these two sides in Round 1 last year.
Swans: Joel Amartey, Kaiden Brand, Lance Franklin, Michael Knoll, Tom McCartin, Sam Naismith, Sam Reid, Jackson Thurlow.
Bulldogs: Ben Cavarra, Josh Dunkley, Taylor Duryea, Riley Garcia, Lachie Hunter, Easton Wood.

GWS GIANTS V COLLINGWOOD MAGPIES PREDICTION
FRIDAY – JUNE 26 – 7:50 PM
AFL Footy Tips Round 4 will be leaning towards the Pies as they square off against the struggling Giants.
The Giants explosive attack of 2019 has become a distant memory as they have scored just 93 points in their past two games. Last weekend they kicked just 1 goal in the first half against the Western Bulldogs. They eventually finished with 4 goals in the 24 point loss.
Collingwood remain undefeated and sit in second place on the AFL Ladder after a brilliant defensive performance last weekend against the lowly St.Kilda. The Pies were never troubled in their 81-37 victory despite conceding the first goal of the game. They kicked the next 4 and lead by 20 points at quarter time. Saints bagged 2 early goals in the second before the Pies kicked well clear with another 5 straight goals. The match cruised through the second half with the Pies scoring 2 goals to 1.

SATURDAY – JUNE 27 – 1:45 PM

Port Adelaide are the only team in the competition to have won all 3 games so far. They beat the Suns 76-29 in Round 1 and then neighbours Adelaide 110-35 in Round 2. Last weekend they came up against Fremantle and were slow out of the blocks, trailing by a goal at the end of the first term. The rest of the match though saw the Power skip away, kicking 7 goals to 2 to score a comfortable 29 point victory.
West Coast followed up their disappointing Round 2 loss to the Suns with another less than impressive performance last weekend against the Lions. The Eagles made a solid start in a low scoring first half, to lead 22-18 at halftime. When play resumed, the Lions kicked well clear, snaring 8 goals to 3 to win by 5 majors.
Port won the last encounter between these sides by 7 goals back in Round 5, 2019.

ST.KILDA V RICHMOND TIGERS PREDICTION
SATURDAY – JUNE 27 – 4:35 PM
AFL Round 4 tips are going to be a little tricky with this game, with both sides struggling for consistency.
St.Kilda made a good start against competition heavyweights Collingwood, but the joy was short-lived as the Pies raced out to a 64-26 lead at the break. Saints were much improved in the second half, keeping the Pies to just 2 goals, but their attack wasn’t able to capitalise as they lost by 44 points.
The Tigers got blown off the park in the first quarter of their match last weekend against the Hawks, as they trailed 33-1. A late rally by the Tigers in the last term was too little, too late as Hawthorn strolled to an impressive 71-39 win.
Richmond have won their last 4 games and 10 of their last 12 games against the Saints. The Tigers won the last match by 33 points in Round 15 last year.
Saints: Oscar Clavarino, Jarryn Geary, Darragh Joyce.
Tigers: Noah Cumberland, Will Martyn, Dustin Martin, Bigoa Nyuon.
Milestones: Dan Hannebery needs 1 goal to reach 100 for his career.
ESSENDON BOMBERS V CARLTON BLUES PREDICTION
SATURDAY – JUNE 27 – 7:40 PM
AFL Round 4 tips for this match should see a win for the Dons, but the Blues are coming off a strong win.
Essendon didn’t play last weekend as their match against Melbourne has been postphoned after Conor McKenna returned a positive test to Coronavirus. On Tuesday he was tested again and returned a negative result. They will be without James Stewart for this match as he is in quarantine.
Carlton put on a rare dominant performance against Geelong last weekend, leading from start to finish. The game wasn’t an easy one though, despite Carlton getting out to a 78-43 lead at three-quarter time. Geelong kicked 5 unanswered goals in the last term to almost snatch a late victory, but the Blues held on for a 79-77 win.
Essendon won their last game against Carlton 74-33, in Round 11, 2019.
Bombers: Joe Daniher, Sam Draper, Orazio Fantasia, Noah Gown, Dyson Heppell, Tom Hird, Lachie Johnson, Conor McKenna, Kobe Mutch.

GOLD COAST SUNS V FREMANTLE DOCKERS PREDICTION
SATURDAY – JUNE 27 – 7:40 PM
This game could well be one of the toughest footy tips Round 4 to pick.
The Gold Coast Suns young guns played 3 splendid quarters to completely blitz the Adelaide Crows last weekend. At three quarter time, the Suns had an emphatic 58 point lead and had kept the Crows to just 1 goal. Adelaide kicked 3 goals to 2 in the last term to reduce the final margin to 53 points.
The winless Dockers sit second last after losing last weekend to the competition leaders, the undefeated Port Adelaide. The Dockers got off to a great start, leading by a goal after the first term. Sadly though, Freo couldn’t keep the form going as they kicked just 2 goals for the rest of the match, while the Power slotted 7.
The Suns won their last game against Freo by 3 points, back in Round 2 last year.
Suns: George Horlin-Smith, Anthony Miles, Mitch Riordan.

The Brisbane Lions have won their last two games, albeit against teams outside of the top 8. Last week they came up against the Eagles and trailed at halftime by 4 points. The Lions came out of the sheds firing and scored 3 quick goals to take a solid lead, which they maintained to record a 5 goal victory.
After their disappointing Round 2 result against neighours and rivals Port Adelaide, where Adelaide lost by 75 points, they were thumped yet again last weekend, against 2019 wooden spooners Gold Coast. The Crows trailed from start to finish and lost 82-29.
The Lions win by 1 point in the last encounter between these two sides last year ended a 7 game losing run against the Crows.
Lions: Marcus Adams, Stefan Martin, Dayne Zorko.
Crows: Rory Atkins, Riley Knight, Wayne Milera, Tyson Stengle, Patrick Wilson.
Milestones: Cam Rayner will play his 50th club and career game.
MELBOURNE DEMONS V GEELONG CATS PREDICTION
SUNDAY – JUNE 28 – 3:35 PM
AFL Round 4 tips for this match will prove to be a somewhat tricky game to pick a winner for.
After pipping Carlton by just 1 point in Round 2, they were expected to come up against Essendon last weekend, however a Covid-19 positive test inside the Essendon playing group resulted in the match being postphoned.
After Geelong recorded a comprehensive Round 2 victory over Hawthorn, to the tune of 108-47, they were expected to make light work of a lowly Carlton side last weekend. However Geelong never found themselves in the lead during the match. They rallied hard late in the game but fell two points shy of the Blues.

North Melbourne came up against the Swans last weekend, with hopes of keeping their undefeated run going. The Roos held a narrow lead at quarter time, but struggled in the second and third term to fall well behind the Swans. The Roos bagged three late majors to close the gap, but they still lost by 11 points,
