Melbourne United have bolstered their chances of winning back-to-back NBL titles by re-signing star guard Casper Ware and big man Josh Boone.
While the Sydney Kings have been hogging the headlines this offseason, especially with their acquisition of high-profile big man Andrew Bogut, Melbourne United has countered by re-signing two key members of last season’s championship team.

The move solidifies the two clubs as favourites to win the 2018-19 NBL title, with both the Kings and United currently paying $3.60 to win it all.
Ware, who led United in scoring (19 ppg) and assists (4 apg), was a member of the Portland Trail Blazers team that won the NBA Summer League title.
Boone, who led the NBL in rebounding with nearly 10 per game, gives United a needed big presence inside, particularly important with Bogut now manning the middle for Sydney.
The two join a Melbourne roster that includes superstar Chris Goulding, Peter Hooley, Craig Moller and new signing Alex Pledger. The team still has one more import slot to fill, but it won’t be Casey Prather, who will play in Europe this season.
