It’s easy to make jokes about Russell Westbrook. He’s a bit loose, maybe a little crazy and definitely an interesting character.
But make no mistake, he can change a game the way few NBA players can.

Today, faced with elimination at the hands of the young, up-and-about Jazz, Westbrook responded the way a real superstar does:
17-39 from the field
5-9 from 3-point range
44 minutes played
With Jazz fans already checking their calendars to see when Game One of the semi-finals would start, Westbrook led the Thunder on a 32-7 run in the third quarter. The 25-point Jazz lead was erased and OKC would keep the momentum going in an eight-point win.
Paul George was Russ’ sidekick today, adding 34 points and eight rebounds. They were the only Thunder players in double figures.

The Jazz seemed to lose their way late in the second half, taking some poor shots and committing 16 turnovers (to OKC’s eight).
Game Six is Saturday in Salt Lake City and you know the Jazz fans will be up for it. But will the team?
You’d certainly say ‘yes’ but Westbrook and George might have something to say about it.
