Rumblings in the party and media reports suggest Barnaby Joyce could lead the Nationals into the next election.
We are not sold on that happening and have the current leader and deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack at $1.50 to be at the helm for the Federal election.
If I were @M_McCormackMP & @senbmckenzie, I'd be finding the radio silence from Camp @Barnaby_Joyce, after the continuing & to be continued pile on against, him a bit more than concerning. Knowing Barnaby as we do @TonyHWindsor, I'd guess this is a calm before a storm. #Auspol https://t.co/5HUiFHp631

Joyce announced in the media that he would stand if the National’s leadership became open. No surprises there and McCormack looks safe, but anything can happen in Australian politics and usually does.
Joyce has firmed from $4.50 into $2.50 to be at the helm and he is well clear of deputy leader Bridget McKenzie ($16) and David Littleproud ($18).
