Trying to keep the ball rolling after cracking a nice dividend after landing the Sydney Quaddie last Saturday.

4-Benchmark 70 (1250m)

Best: Above And Beyond – latest run was huge when poorly ridden. Set alight mid race and was wide throughout and still fought on. Gets a jockey change and 3kg claim is a bonus.


Temple Run – Jumped from outside alley, led three wide facing the breeze and still fought hard for second to Accelerato.

Darleb – honest colt ploughed through heavy 9 latest, up in grade and drops 2kgs.

Numbers: 1, 11, 6.

5-Benchmark 74 (1800m)

Best: Picaro – slow away last start and got too far back, before closing off strongly.


Savigne – had all the favours and scored good second-up win, can only be fitter.

Chocolatier – heavy track winner, three runs in now and out to best distance.

Secretly – had every chance when 3rd this track and distance almost a month ago. Not convinced 1800m is her go, but nicely weighted.

Numbers: 6, 10, 2, 11.

6-Benchmark 70 (1550m)

Best: Le Gai Soleil – won two of three, latest on heavy 10 in easier grade. Still learning the caper, but looks highly promising.


Baanone – won this class and distance latest, up 2kgs.

Clevanicc – beaten favourite latest, but was friendless. Heavy track winner and can improve third-up.

Peace Of Mind – won Newcastle, no wet form, but got through heavy 8 okay in recent Rosehill trial.

Numbers: 8, 3, 5, 6.

7-Benchmark 70 (1150m)

Best: Hibiscus Lady – placed two runs this prep. Slow away latest and was a solid third this grade, drops 3kgs with the claim.


L’Cosmo – super fit not far away in Heavy 9 last start.

Echo Gem – resumes, placed in heavy and two trials should have her ready to run boldly.

Sally’s Day – placed Listed level, latest struck some trouble and rider reported did not handle the heavy, that’s a concern but goes in on previous run.

Numbers: 1, 5, 4, 2.


5-Benchmark 70 (1600m)

Best: Maximak – jock had trouble finding a run latest third here. Same rider back aboard, which is the only reason not the top pick.


Flying Sardine – raced handy then lost spot mid-race. Got going late and finished well this track and distance.

Clever Blaze – mare in form led all of the way in easier class and drops 3.5kgs after the claim.

Rippa Choice – closed off strongly when the race was over this track and grade, lightly raced and likely improver.

Β Numbers: 9, 4, 5, 11.

6-Benchmark 78 (1200m)

Best: Choisborder – fitter for first-up run, blinkers back on, same grade down a 1kg.


Rolling Moss – won well Mornington, not disgraced latest at Flemington, nicely in with 3kg claim.

Blinder – having first run since November, highly promising. Likely to get back, but should be hitting the line.

Numbers: 1, 3, 12.

7-Benchmark 84 (2100m)

Best: Shepherd – pulled up with an abscess after disappointing run at Flemington. Won previous in dominant fashion.


Maliseet – won BM70 leading all of the way. Out to 2100m for the first time.

Light Pillar – jumps from 1400m to 2100m, which is ideal. Ran home strongly at first Australian start so will be improved.

Lucas The Younger – closed off strongly for third to Maliseet, will be suited this trip.

Numbers: 8, 7, 6, 15.

Β 8-Benchmark 70 (2100m)

Best: Shahzade – was a massive run when fast finishing second in BM78 here. Up only a 1kg after drop in class and extra distance a plus.


Fiorente Lass – winner to 2000m working through the grades and bred to run two-miles.

Miss Damita – two-time winner at 2000m placed two runs from a spell, fitter for this.

Malerita – former Kiwi, won two last two starts, mare in great form.

Numbers: 1, 8, 3, 6.


5-Benchmark 68 (2040m)

Best: Merlin’s Magic – revelled in heavy 10 and won with plenty in hand at Ipswich latest. Drawn to get the gun run.


Momentum To Win – won well at Gold Coast, latest made two runs in the race and stuck on well for second to Tactee, this trip suits.

Dashing Special – placed last two. Did well in heavy 8 latest when had a tough run. Prior to that was second this track and distance.

El Chaparro – third-up, improvement likely after second to Merlin’s Magic, when held up for a run.

Numbers: 4, 2, 3, 5.

6-Class 3 (1640m)

Best: Top Me Up Again – backed up promise before a spell with first-up win over 1350m. Even better suited this trip and no world beaters in this.


Staying Black – honest gelding, will race on the bunny and no knock on winning form.

Prinny’s Success – not a lot went right at Ipswich went hampered at the start. Can be closer in the run this time.

Numbers: 5, 6, 1.

7-Benchmark 70 (1200m)

Best: Schweid As – lightly raced three-year-old. Nice effort when resuming and can box-seat.


Copywriter – rails draw is huge and ran well in BM 85 latest.

I Dream Of Green – goes well this track, 2kg claim, blinkers and not far away last start.

Numbers: 11, 6, 2.

8-Class 2 (1350m)

Best: Roman Aureus – followed strong Mdn win with third in Saturday city grade over 1200m. Extra distance a plus and can get a soft run from the good gate.


Reus – in the money all six starts, won in heavy 10 latest with the same weight.

She’s Rubicool – won Mdn before a spell and was then placed this grade. First-up run led and fought on, can only be improved.

Makeup – closed off strongly without threatening at Ipswich, won previous start and sting out of the track is a plus.

Numbers: 12, 3, 15, 16.
