Leggup | Two-State Quaddies


We landed the Sunshine Coast Quaddie last Saturday, which kept the ball rolling. Also found a few winners down south, but no joy locking in the four legs.

Down to just two venues today, form done for good track for Eagle farm and soft 6 at Cranbourne.

Eagle Farm

5-Benchmark 70 (1400m)

Best:  Liability –  wasn’t at home in the heavy 8 last start, but hel his ground in tougher company. Should be close to peak now.


Mr Storm – the 1200m around Doomben was too short latest run. Third-up, slightly longer and bigger track should suit.

Slow Hands – first-up, not let go in recent trial behind Multaja. Placed against tougher opposition before a break, 2kg claim is a positive.

Fastnet Cyclone – resumes, likes it longer but usually runs well when fresh.

Numbers: 9, 5, 2, 6.

6-Benchmark 85 (1000m)

Best: Rock Beat – first-up, no trial form, but unbeaten in three runs when resuming and is two from two this track and distance.


Hi Fiver – no luck last start when held-up at a crucial stage and should have finished closer.

Desert Man – went out too hard last start under a big weight. This harder but down 4kgs and gets a a good surface.

Wirnpa – close up last couple and won three runs back. Can get the gun run.

Invincible Gangsta – first-up since February, no trials, but goes well fresh and winner this trip.

Numbers: 3, 13, 12, 7, 8.

7-Benchmark 75 (1800m)

Best:  High Power – wasn’t suited at Ipswich. Widest runner on the home turn and closed well behind Tatcee and meets that horse much better at the weights.


Pressway – ran well behind Countess De Galvez last Wednesday. Will handle the quick back-up and 1800m looks a good fit.

Merlin’s Magic – bolted in at the Gold Coast and followed that up with a strong second in BM68 last start.

Tatcee – super fit, also backs-up after 5th to Countess De Galvez. In the money six of seven this track.

Numbers: 4, 7, 12, 3.

8-Benchmark 68 (1200m)

Best: Kalik – third-up and two runs in good. Was beaten under 3lens in Listed race then latest didn’t handle the heavy. Blinkers go on, good alley, claim, ticks some boxes.


Astro Toy Boy – nice horse, not started since January. Gelded before a spell and looked good winning two Gold Coast trials.

Schweid As – two runs this prep’ have been solid and drops in grade here.

Daulat Tai Panaziz – taken back to last here most recent run and flashed home to finish on the heels of the placegetters. Looks to have plenty of upside.

Numbers: 1, 2, 5, 7.


5-Benchmark 64 (1400m)

Best: Bacchus – Waller runner better for first-up run when not knocked about.


Miss Polanski – usually takes a run or two to come to hand, nice second latest this track.

Sunset Eagle – wide no cover for much of the trip at Cranbourne last start, better draw this time.

Diode – fitter for first-up second, honest.

Numbers: 5, 13, 14, 3.

6-Benchmark 64 (1200m)

Best: Oxley Jack – given no peace last start when led, but fought on well in tougher city grade.


Celeritate Regem – won Donald last time out, on speed runner and likes the sting out of the track.

That Song – shunted deep on the turn and worked home well after balanced up.

Harlem Blues – Snowden runner that scored dominant (2.75lens) Maiden win, at third start, on Ballarat synthetic.

Miss Entice – resumes, jumped and ran in a recent 1000m Mornington jump-out and races well this track.

Numbers: 7, 6, 8, 12, 13.

7-Benchmark 70 F&M (1000m)

Best: Salty Kisses – worked hard in the run and battled for fourth at Sandown latest, honest mare.


Vahvuus – beat Salty Kisses home when first-up last start. Can only be fitter.

Snap Crackle Boom – resuming since December, but has had two jump-outs. Won on debut and failed only other start before spelled.

Raven’s Blaze – fitter for first-up run, not disgraced against tougher company than this before a spell.

Numbers: 10, 11, 12, 1.

8-Benchmark 64 (2025m)

Best: Grinzinger Allee – meeting far inferior opposition after great second to Walking Flying last start.


Auf Weidersehen – made a mid-race move and kept going for strong win latest. Wetter the better.

Magazine – honest filly coming off a big win at Wangaratta, s8ure to be finishing off strongly.

Numbers: 2, 8, 5.
