Smart filly Champagne Cuddles has drawn ideally for Saturday’s Tatt’s Tiara (1350m) at Doomben.
Trainer Bjorn Baker will be pleased with barrier six for his filly, but more importantly he will be hoping Doomben maintains the current good 4 track rating.
Champagne Cuddles was a brave third to Santa Ana Lane in the Stradbroke, which was run on a heavy 8. After the race jockey Corey Brown said: “She couldn’t get her action down the straight and she kept dipping and diving.’’
Champagne Cuddles heads betting and looks a great chance to finally crack it, after four minor placings, for an elite level win. The Tiara is the final Group 1 of the season has attracted a full field of 16 runners and five emergencies.

Prompt Response ($7.00), who finished second last year, is next in betting just ahead of Savanna Amour ($8.00), which has drawn the rails and comes off a solid Listed level win on Stradbroke day. Outsider Missrock ($19) has plenty of admirers and is the best supported runner since the barrier draw, despite drawing gate 18.
