Superstar greyhound Striker Light is set for a shot at history in Saturday night’s Golden Easter Egg Final (520m) at Wentworth Park.
Striker Light is perfectly drawn in box one when she attempts to become the first dog, in the Golden Easter Egg’s 29 year history, to win the World’s richest greyhound race two years in a row.
Striker Light (pictured) jumped from box 7 in last week’s semi-final and chased home Final rival Up Hill Jill, who drew poorly and will jump from box 6. Striker Light’s chances, of becoming a double yolker, improved when she drew the rails as earlier this month she won the Group 1 Temlee in the red rug.
The fastest qualifiers for the Final were Dual Keroma (29.65) and Miss Splendamiro (29.68). Dual Keromo drew box eight and another brilliant sprinter, Miss Splendamiro, confirmed favouritism when she drew box two.
