The Leggup | Three-state Quaddies

Here’s a look at the last four races in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

No joy last week, unfortunately with the Brisbane Quaddie paying in excess of $200,000.

Have scouted wide in a few and any percentage will do.

Good luck.

6-Quality Handicap (2540m)

Best: Sin To Win – ridden off his pattern last start when went forward in slow run race. Was a very game third to Chapada and there is more speed in this and distance no problem.

Chapada – strong win this track and trip latest.

Lord Belvedere – wasn’t suited in heavy two runs this time in, fitter now.

Alfarris – dragged back and long wide run for 5th to Mahamedeis, third-up now.

Arty Lucas – beat nothing in easy win at Ballarat, but does drop 5.5kgs and will race on speed.

Numbers: 7, 4, 3, 5, 8.

7-Creswick Stakes (3YO, 1200m)

Broadwayandfourth – backs-up and no surprise, she was luckless against older horses at the Valley. Back to three-year-old company and will be suited down the straight.

King Of Hastings – paid the price for consistency at the weights, racing well.

I Am Eloquent – not given much hope in Morphettville G3 latest, but powered home.

Run To Perfection – former Kiwi, freshened after not far away 1400m here.

Numbers: 5, 1, 7, 8.

8-Quality Handicap (1420m)

Best: Haunted – always wide when second to Vassilator here. Gutsy effort, meets Vassilator 1.5kgs better and barrier two is huge.

Heptagon – doing everything right with wins last two, but does rise 5.5kgs.

Vassilator – good win in soft 5 last start, fit and three from six this track and distance.

Never Again – wide from the 600m worked home okay. Wide gate but gets back and will be running on.

Numbers: 3, 1, 6, 16.

9-Quality Handicap (1100m)

Best: Order of Command – lumped 62kgs to win the Wangoom then close fifth in Group 1 Goodwood. Down in grade and in the money 7 of 10 this track.

Rich Charm – first-up and first time in heavy 8 when closed off strongly for second down the straight six. Better for the run and drier track a positive.

Prezado – can do no wrong, won last three yet to win in eight runs beyond 1000m.

Lord Von Costa – not at home in the heavy, but still tried hard latest, Williams sticks.

Numbers: 1, 4, 2, 12.

6-Benchmark 78 (1200m)

Best: Voila – had a bad barrier and dropped out early before working home well. Can be closer from a better draw, Waller-Bowman.

Sweeping Statement – Waller again. Up in grade, but dominant win when resumed, looks progressive type.

Threeood – followed second this grade with impressive win midweek, both in heavy.

Misteed – good effort for second to Wandabaa, up in weight and wide barrier not ideal.

Numbers: 5, 13, 9, 1.

7-Benchmark 78 (1200m)

Best: Charretera – resumed with solid third to Oakfield Twilight and Monte Ditto. Not a noted first-up performer, so will have taken improvement and two from three when second-up.

Monte Ditto – got home hard to go down in a photo to Oakfield Twilight, doubt there’s a fitter horse in the race.

Superium – under the odds for mine on a heavy track, but is down in class and should be close to peak at third run this prep.

Hulk – broke his Maiden two starts ago, latest was not far away behind Mo’s Crown and on the minimum.

Numbers: 8, 9, 3, 11.

8-Benchmark 78 (1600m)

Best: Mr Dependable – huge first-up run, when faced the breeze three wide. Drawn out again, but expect will go forward and lead and be hard to run down.

Orcein – untried in heavy, but got through soft 7 last start when gutsy third, after racing wide, this track and distance.

Starspangled Rodeo – raced erratically when fifth True Detective. Won previous start and out to this trip is a plus.

Convinced – nice first-up conditioning run. Dropped out to last ran home late for Bowman, who is back on board.

Numbers: 4, 13, 1, 10.

9-Benchmark 78 (1400m)

Best: Bigboyroy – big betting drifter and ran into several rumps last start and should have finished closer than 6th to Chocalatier. Tougher, but weight drop and J-Mac.

Bandersnatch – won this grade (heavy 8) before a spell. Off day last start, but since trialled strongly.

Bergen – went out hard when first-up from a long break. From better draw here he can get a softer run.

Spencer – fought on latest after having the gun run, slightly longer trip in his favour.

Juventus – closed off to be just behind Spencer latest, always a chance in these races.

Numbers: 11, 3, 10, 1, 7.

6-Benchmark 75 (1350m)

Best: Maozi – three runs in have been solid, latest was well back, but finished hard for second behind a smart one in Command’n’conquer.

Brains – freshened and drawn to box-seat. Rain about and has won in heavy.

Liability – has carried big weights for seconds at past two starts, up in grade, but down 3kgs and will race on the bunny. No wet form.

Β Shijin – led all of the way to win here latest, well weighted with 3kg claim. Wet or dry no problem.

Numbers: 11, 2, 14, 12.

7-Three-Year-Old Fillies Hcp (1200m)

Best: Frozen In Time – massive run at Randwick latest against older horses. Four wide throughout and was a brave second in soft 7.

Β Others

Say Haya – was third on heavy 8 and latest was outclassed in Listed 1000m race behind Aquitaine. Out to 1200m is a plus.

Roasted – betting drift suggests wasn’t ready when resumed. Well drawn where inside barriers are crucial.

Euro Belle – tired late when resuming, Listed place before a spell and certain to be improved off that run.

Numbers: 3, 6, 5, 9.

8-Three-year-Old colts and geldings Hcp (1200m)

Best: Stuttering – just needs a brilliant ride from Du Plessis as the wide gate is a concern. He worked from an outside barrier last start and sat outside the leader (Bestie) for a fighting win. Third-up and heavy track winner if rain comes.

Garibaldi – beaten just over four lengths in G3 last start. Down in grade and distance, which will work in his favour and can box-seat.

Dynamic Verse – in the money last four starts, step-up from 1000m should suit.

Kalik – resumed and finished hard behind Aquitane at Listed level and is two from two when second-up.

Numbers: 9, 1, 8, 4.

9-Open Handicap (1110m)

Best: Royal Witness – led and had no peace, but battled strongly for third to race rivals Jami Lady and Ozark at Eagle Farm. Great barrier and Doomben will suit.

Mishani Hustler – not disgraced (11th) in Listed grade last start. He drew the car park and was wide throughout. Barrier two this time.

Ozark – made up a stack of ground from last slightly longer trip will suit.

Spurcraft – unbeaten in two this track and distance, trialled strongly.

Numbers: 16, 5, 12, 2.
