Winx will have a maximum of nine rivals including a possible six stablemates when she tackles the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.
Only three of the of the 10 nominations are from stables outside her own with Aloisia, Happy Clapper and Tavago making up the trio.
Winx will be striving for her 31st consecutive win and 23rd Group 1 win. She stands to equal Tie The Knot’s record of four Chipping Norton Stakes (1999-2002).
Winx’s trainer Chris Waller will also have multiple representation in the Group 1 Surround Stakes (1400m) for three-year-old fillies.
Tie The Knot’s late trainer Guy Walter will be remembered at Saturday’s meeting with the Group 2 race for mares named in his honour.
Juveniles will be striving to seal spot in the Golden Slipper in the Sweet Embrace Stakes for fillies and Skyline Stakes for colts and geldings.
In other Slipper news, a decision whether Blue Diamond Stakes winner Lyre presses on to the Rosehill Group 1 is at least a week away.
Lyre came from back in the field in Saturday’s Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield to make it three wins from four starts so far in her juvenile season.
She is owned by Godolphin and trained by Anthony Freedman who said on Monday it was still too soon to commit the filly to the Slipper.
“It’s probably too early to say just yet,” Freedman told RSN927. “We’ll bring her back down to Pinecliff from Flemington in the next day or so and she’ll have a good week or 10 days here and we’ll evaluate her probably this time next week, see how she is.
“The obvious race for her would be the Slipper. It’s still a month away so we’ve got plenty of time to make a call on that.
