Chris Waller is the $1.50 favourite to claim his seventh Group 1 winning trainer title ahead of Melbourne maestro Darren Weir ($2.50).
Waller has Winx ready to go on her final campaign and she gave him six of his 13 Group 1 wins last season. It’s not surprising he is favourite for the title, but Weir was only four behind last season.

The new season starts today and Waller drew first blood in the metropolitan training premiership when Charge, ridden by James McDonald, saluted in the first at Warwick Farm.
McDonald returned from an enforced holiday this year and is the $3.00 second favourite, behind Brenton Avdulla ($2.60), to claim the Sydney riding title.
