Belshina, BATE going in opposite directions

Week 7 in the Belarusian Premier League wraps up tonight and overnight with everyone chasing league-leading FC Slutsk.

A 2-1 win over Dinamo Minsk last night kept Slutsk atop the table, two points clear of Torpedo BelAZ who thrashed FC Minsk 5-2.

Tonight’s matches begin with home team Belshina Bobruisk looking for its first win of the season against the defending champions Dinamo Brest, who are on a two-match losing streak.

From there we head 3 1/2 hours north on the E95 to Vitebsk, the home of famous painter Marc Chagall. The home team Vitebsk are having a decent season – in 6th at the start of the night – and should be too strong for Slavia Mozyr.

Next up, the big boys BATE Borisov, try to keep the momentum going up the ladder as they host inconsistent Neman Grodno.

And the round finishes in Soligorsk as the 12th place Miners of Shakhter host the 3rd place Wolves of Isloch.
