The top four clubs from last season’s Belarusian Premier League are back in action, and all are coming off disappointing Week 1 performances.
Defending champs Dinamo Brest drew last week, while BATE Borisov, Dinamo Minsk and Shakhtyor Soligorsk were on the losing end of upset losses.
Meanwhile there were two matches from Week 2 overnight, with both favourites getting close wins.
Heavily favoured Torpedo BelAZ beat Belshina Bobruisk 1-0, continuing a trend of clean sheets at home. The Zhodino club had 12 shutouts in their 30 league games last season.
Surprising Energetik-BCU made it two wins in a row, with a 1-0 away win over Ruh Brest. We had mentioned that Energetik had scored in nine of their last 10 away games and that trend continued.
There are two games at reasonable hours tonight – 9pm and 11pm AEDT – and two more overnight.
