Liverpool Headline FA Cup Action

Chelsea v Liverpool

Wednesday, 6:45am AEDT

Liverpool are coming off a shock loss to Watford, their first in the Premier League this season.

Previously, the Reds have fielded youth-oriented teams in the FA Cup and in fact, Jurgen Klopp had handed the coaching reins to his U-23 coach Neil Critchley. But Critchley just accepted the manager’s job at Blackpool, so Klopp will more than likely be on the touchline tomorrow morning. The question is, will he bring a few Liverpool regulars with him?

Chelsea have won six of their 10 FA Cup meeting with Liverpool, but…Chelsea have won just one of their last six home games against Liverpool in all competitions.

Reading v Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has previously stated his focus is a strong finish to the Premier League season rather than the FA Cup, but with a weekend off – thanks to Aston Villa’s participation in the Carabao Cup final – he may be tempted to field a stronger lineup.

Reading are 16th in the Championship, with a weekend win over Barnsley ending a two-match losing streak. The Royals have had to go to a replay in their previous two rounds, which won’t happen here with extra time and penalties on the cards for a regulation time draw.

West Brom v Newcastle

Wednesday, 7am AEDT

Fascinating matchup featuring the leaders of the Championship against an unpredictable team in the bottom half of the Premier League.

West Brom manager Slaven Bilic has said he’ll rest some of his regulars – obviously, winning promotion to the Premier League is far more important – but he’s got a deep squad and they’ll definitely be competitive at home.

Newcastle haven’t scored in four consecutive matches, but there’s a chance that streak is broken…the last time they hit the net was in the FA Cup replay win over Oxford United.

Win-Draw-Win
$2.50 West Brom
$3.20 Draw
$2.88 Newcastle
