MARINERS COULD SEND A LIGHTNING BOLT THROUGH A-LEAGUE

Comments

What a coup it would be for the Mariners if they could secure sprint legend Usain Bolt for the A-league season.

If signed he would not be the best player on their books, but there is no doubt he would be the quickest and crowd size would rise dramatically.

Earlier this year Bolt trialled with German team Borussia Dortmund and trained with Norwegian side Stromsgodset. Apparently he can kick a ball, but we’re tipping it’ll take more than the favoured left foot of the world’s fastest man to get the Mariners to the finals

The Lightning Bolt will have a six week trial with the Mariners and our traders rate him a $2.25 chance to sign with the club for the season ahead.

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist is also $31 to win the Johnny Warren medal.

The world-wide speculation has not changed the traders’ minds, with regards to the Mariners prospects and last season’s cellar-dwellars remain with the $26 outsiders to win the title.
