There’s more Premier League action Sunday night and overnight Monday, with most of the attention focussed on the Merseyside Derby.
Liverpool can’t win the league with a win against their archrivals Everton (Monday, 4am AEST) but they can set themselves up to clinch the title next Thursday at home against Crystal Palace.
Sunday night opens with Newcastle hosting Sheffield United (11pm AEST) and that one is followed by desperate Aston Villa – currently in the relegation zone – against Chelsea (1:15am AEST).
Newcastle v Sheffield United
Sunday, 11pm AEST
*This is Sheffield United’s first visit to Newcastle since a Championship game in 2010.
*This is Newcastle’s first league match in the month of June since 1947.
*Sheffield United have only given up 12 goals on the road this season, second best in the league, while Newcastle have only scored 12 goals at home, worst in the league.
*Very few goals, so Under 1.5 goals ($2.53) or Half-Time Correct Score ‘Draw 0-0’ ($2.30) are both good value.
$2.40 Sheffield United
Aston Villa v Chelsea
Monday, 1:15am AEST
*Aston Villa have taken just one point of a possible 24 in eight meetings with the current top five.
*Aston Villa have lost 9 of their last 10 Premier League games against Chelsea.
*Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud has scored in his last 6 matches against Villa.
*Chelsea win ($1.45) is the safe option. Over 2.5 Goals ($1.53) might be worth a look, as well as Olivier Giroud ($1.91) as Anytime Goalscorer.
$7.00 Aston Villa (out from $5.50)
Everton v Liverpool
Monday, 4am AEST
*Everton are winless in 18 Premier League meetings with Liverpool (10 draws 8 losses) since 2010.
*6 of the last 7 meetings at Goodison Park have ended in draws.
*7 of the last 8 meetings at Goodison Park have been level at haltime.
*Half-Time result ‘Draw’ ($2.30) might be worth a go, although a Liverpool win ($1.57) makes sense as well.
