Pressure On Liverpool, PSG At Home

Liverpool v Atletico Madrid

Thursday, 7am AEDT

First leg: Atletico Madrid 1 Liverpool 0

Liverpool fans should prepare for a tough, grinding and dramatic second leg at Anfield, with Atletico a very difficult team to beat on the road. They lead La Liga in draws (12) and have only been beaten in 90 minutes in two of their last nine away matches.

There is some good news for the Reds, however: (1) they’re unbeaten in two games at home against Atletico (2) Jurgen Klopp has yet to lose a home Champions League game at Anfield; he’s won 11 and drawn four and (3) Atletico Madrid have won just one of their last nine Champions League away matches.

The safest plays here are probably the Draw ($3.75) or a Correct Score market result like Liverpool to win 1-0 ($6.00) or Liverpool to win 2-0 ($6.50). Under 2.5 Goals at $1.75 also worth a look in what should be a close-to-the-vest match.

Paris St-Germain v Dortmund

Thursday, 7am AEDT

First leg: Dortmund 2 PSG 1

Yet another game to be played behind closed doors and you’d have to think the lack of a home crowd at Parc des Princes will help Dortmund. The visitors have a 2-1 lead from the first leg and are in superb form, winning five in a row in all competitions.

PSG has a dismal record in Champions League knockout rounds, having lost five of their last six, including their last two at home (to Real Madrid and Manchester United).

Dortmund’s young star Erling Haaland scored both goals in the first leg and he’s $5.50 as First Goalscorer and $1.91 Anytime Goalscorer in this one. Kylian Mbappe, who had been unwell, tested negatively for coronavirus but may not start for PSG.

$1.72 Paris St. Germain
$4.20 Draw
$3.75 Dortmund
