BATE Borisov and Dinamo Minsk might be the best known teams in the Belarusian Premier League, but the club that has drawn the most attention during the country’s time in the sports spotlight has been FC Slutsk.
With its name conducive to all sorts of jokes, puns and double entendres, the club has attempted to utilise that notoriety to accumulate followers on social media and even potentially find a shirt sponsor.
Of course all of this arguably overshadows the fact that Slutsk have started the season brilliantly. They sit in second place on six points with two wins and one loss, and a total of six goals scored, which is equal high in the league.
Last week they scored a late goal to stun Isloch 3-2 and this week they’re back home against Vitebsk, who have the exact same record.
