Following in the footsteps of fellow Aussies Tom Rogic and Jamie Maclaren, it looks like Socceroos star-in-the-making Daniel Arzani will ply his trade in Scotland this season.
A deal is understood to be almost completed, with the 19-year old transferring from Melbourne City to Manchester City, who will loan him out to Scottish champions Celtic.
Arzani will play under Brendan Rodgers and will join fellow Socceroo Rogic, who had good things to say to the Scottish media about the youngster: “He’s a good kid and although he’s young he’s definitely a talent…he’s got bags of potential.”

It’s understood that both Rogic and Rodgers are keen to have Arzani on board, and since Celtic have the most talent in Scotland by a long shot, you’d imagine the young Aussie would be eased into the system rather than being thrown to the wolves immediately.
Celtic have dominated the Scottish Premiership – particularly since arch-rivals Rangers have had major off-field issues – winning seven consecutive titles.
They are short-priced favourites to win it again this season, with Rangers second favourite, and Aberdeen and Jamie Maclaren’s Hibernian long shots.
