Terms and Conditions for Sportsbet’s TRY JULY Competition are as follows:

  1. The promoter is Sportsbet Pty Ltd ABN 87 088 326 612, a company incorporated in Australia under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), trading as ‘’ (“Promoter”).
  2. This competition (“Competition”) starts at 17:00 (AEST) on Thursday July 2020 and ends at 17:00 (AEST) on Thursday 23 July 2020 (“Competition Period”).
  3. Information on how to enter and the prizes forms part of these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Participation in this Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms.
  4. This Competition is open to all entrants who:
    1. are 18 years of age or over;
    2. are Australian residents;
    3. should they have a Sportsbet account, the account is not at any time during the Competition Period closed or suspended;
    4. comply with Instagram and Twitter’s Terms of Service;
    5. comply with these Terms; and
    6. are not management, employees or agents of the Promoter or its related entities (or immediate family members of such people) or of retailers or agencies associated with this Competition,

(“Eligible Entrants”).

  1. To enter, an Eligible Entrant must tag a current NRL player using a social media handle and include the hashtag #TryJuly, as a response (i.e. comment) on any of the Promoter’s dedicated Try July Instagram and Twitter post(s), during the Competition Period (“Entry”).
  2. The Promotion is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
  3. Eligible Entrants will be limited to one entry during the Competition If an Eligible Entrant wants to make a new entry the original entry must be edited (by the Eligible Entrant). If there is more than one entry from an Eligible Entrant the earliest in time entry will be the only entry considered.
  4. Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time the Instagram or Twitter comment is received by the Promoter and not at the time of transmission by the Eligible Entrant.
  5. You must:
    1. only use a maximum of one Instagram or Twitter account to enter the Competition. Anyone found to use multiple accounts to enter will be ineligible;
    2. only use your social media account (and not somebody else’s) to enter the Competition;
    3. ensure that your Entry does not include anything which:
      1. is or may be offensive, controversial, illegal, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, unsuitable for children aged under 18 or otherwise unsuitable for publication;
      2. may infringe the privacy, intellectual property or other rights of any person; or
  • is likely to or may embarrass any individual or body or bring the Promoter into disrepute.
  1. The Promoter, its agents, affiliates or representatives will not be liable for any lost, late or misdirected entries.
  2. The Promoter reserved the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to deem any irregular, incomprehensible and incomplete entries or any entries that do not comply with these Terms, as invalid (“Invalid Entries”).
  3. Invalid Entries cannot win a Prize.
  4. A Prize Winner will be the first person to tag a player that goes on to do a try celebration. For the avoidance of doubt, where a team try celebration is conducted, the tagged player must be a key member of the celebration.  The players level of involvement will be at the sole discretion of, and determined by the Promoter and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Up to a total to ten (10) Prize Winners will be determined. That is, the first ten people to correctly tag an NRL player, including the hashtag #TryJuly, who does, or is a key member of a try celebration.
  6. The Prize Winners will be notified via social media private message before the end of the Competition Period.
  7. If the Promoter has not received confirmation from the Prize Winner or the Prize Winner has failed to provide confirmation of acceptance and any other information requested by the Promoter in order to verify the identity of the prize winner by 5:00pm (AEST) on Friday 31 July 2020, their prize will be forfeited and they will no longer be the Prize Winner.
  8. If the Prize Winner forfeits the Prize pursuant to clause 16, a new Prize Winner will be chosen. The new Prize Winner will be the second person to have tagged the same NRL player during the Competition Period.  The promoter will make reasonable efforts to notify the new Prize Winner by social media private message by 5:00pm (AEST) on Friday 7 August 2020. This process will continue in this manner until a Prize Winner has been confirmed.
  9. The Prize Winners will be posted on the Sportsbet blog by 5pm (AEST) on Friday 14 August 2020.
  10. Each Prize Winner will receive a 2020 NRL club team jersey of their choice, in a size they nominate to the Promoter (“Prize”). Exchanges will not be permitted.  The Promoter will post the jersey to each Prize Winner
  11. Parts of the Prize are supplied by third parties and the Promoter makes no representation or warranty in respect of any of the Prize components or your use thereof.  The Prize components are provided on an “as is” basis and supplied on any conditions imposed by the Prize suppliers.
  12. This Competition is only open to Eligible Entrants who act at all times in good faith, sincerely, and without fraud.  Any entrant or entry that the Promoter suspects, in its discretion, to be in breach of these Terms or attempting to gain an unfair advantage over other competitors (e.g. by the use of technology) will not be eligible.
  13. General:
  14. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or change the Competition at any time throughout the Competition Period without notice.
  15. The decisions of the Promoter are final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  16. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms or who tampers with the entry process.
  17. There will be a maximum of 10 Prizes awarded as part of this Competition.
  18. The total prize pool is valued at a maximum of $1,600. If the Prizes are unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute it with a prize of equal or similar value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
  19. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of their rights does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  20. By entering the Competition all entrants consent to the use by the Promoter of their name, image, likeness, username and social network account name and Entry for publicity and commercial purposes in connection with the Competition and/or the Promoter’s products and services, in any media and for an infinite period, without further compensation. This includes but is not limited to use on TV, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, radio, print, display advertising, website and social media channels, and the Promoter’s blog and website.
  21. The prizes (or any part thereof) are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
  22. Entry to the Competition is free, but entrants are responsible for any costs imposed by their internet service or other technology providers.
  23. The Promoter may prohibit any person’s participation in this Competition, cancel or suspend the Prize (or part thereof) if the Promoter considers that the entrant has behaved in a way which may diminish its name or reputation, is in bad faith, is designed to gain an unfair advantage, is fraudulent, is otherwise contrary to law or these Terms, or is otherwise inappropriate.
  24. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion.
  25. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the Prize.  Independent financial advice should be sought.  Where the operation of this Competition results in, for GST purposes, supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, entrants agree to follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
  26. If this Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the Promoter’s control, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; and/or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition.
  27. The Promoter may collect personal information in order to conduct the Competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use entrants’ information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages to entrants. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to the Promoter at   All personal information collected will be collected and held in accordance with Sportsbet’s Privacy Policy.
  28. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter (and the prize suppliers) will not be liable for any loss or damage an entrant or winner suffers as a result of participating in this Competition (including the Prize), unless caused by the Promoter’s negligence or wilful misconduct.
